Verified coaching profiles

Iron Avatar lists verified coaches across the country, from online-only programmers to gym-based coaches who handle your full meet cycle. Every profile shows years coaching, athlete count, and the PRs their clients have hit on the platform. These are verified numbers pulled from real meet results.

Finding the right fit

Filter by state to find someone local, by specialty to focus on meet prep, technique breakdown, or raw and equipped lifting, or by federation if you want a coach familiar with USPA, USAPL, WRPF, RPS, or APF rules.

Online vs. in-person

The right coach depends on where you are. A lifter prepping for a first meet needs command practice and a conservative opener strategy. A competitor chasing elite totals benefits from a coach with proven results at that level.

How coaching works here

Use the filters below to find coaches who match both your level and the way you want to train, whether that's remote, hybrid, or in-person. Coach profiles include pricing, availability, and a direct way to reach out.

How to choose a powerlifting coach (and what it costs)

A good coach is the difference between guessing and progressing: programming that fits your meet date, video review on the lifts that stall, and a plan for the platform. Here's what lifters ask before hiring one.

How much does a powerlifting coach cost?
Most online powerlifting coaching runs $100–$250 per month for programming, weekly check-ins, and video review. In-person coaching and full meet-prep packages cost more. Every Iron Avatar coach lists a price or package on their profile, and sending a first message is free.
Do I need a coach in my city?
No. Most powerlifting coaching happens online — your coach programs your training, reviews lift videos, and adjusts week to week from anywhere. Location matters mainly if you want in-person technique work or a handler on meet day.
What should I look for in a powerlifting coach?
Look for competition experience in your federation, athletes at your level, a clear description of what a month of coaching includes (check-in cadence, video review, meet-day support), and a price you can sustain for a full training block. On Iron Avatar, every coach's competition record is verified against real meet results.
When should I hire a meet-prep coach?
Ideally 12–16 weeks before your meet — enough time for a full strength block and a peak. If you just registered for your first meet, that's exactly the moment most lifters bring on a coach.
